Liberty Utilities proposes $9M pipeline in New Brunswick
Liberty Utilities, formerly Enbridge Gas New Brunswick, is seeking approval for a new $9 million natural gas pipeline in New Brunswick. The proposal marks the first major new energy infrastructure for the company since 2012.
Working in partnership with regional companies – Headwater Exploration, Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline and Graymont – Liberty is applying to the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board to construct and operate a pipeline serving the Havelock area of New Brunswick.
Graymont, a world-class limestone producer, would take the anchor load, and would give more than 100 additional customers between Penobsquis and Havelock the opportunity to connect to the natural gas pipeline.
The public consultation phase is to begin shortly. If approved by the EUB, the project could be “shovel ready” by this fall, and operational by year end. Further information about the proposed project is available at the Liberty website: naturalgasnb.com.
