Liberty Utilities nabs approval for new pipeline
Liberty Utilities has been given the go-ahead to construct a $9-million natural gas pipeline in New Brunswick.
Working in partnership with regional companies Headwater Exploration and Graymont, Liberty has received approval from the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board to construct and operate a pipeline serving the Havelock area of New Brunswick.
In its partial decision this month, the board granted a permit for construction of nearly eight kilometres of pipeline that will provide more than 100 homes and businesses in the Havelock area access to natural gas via Headwater’s existing line.
Graymont, a world-class limestone producer, will take the anchor load on the pipeline, which will be Liberty’s first major infrastructure project since 2012.
