Canada recently launched the Greenhouse Gas Offset Credit System to allow qualifying projects to generate one tradeable offset credit for every tonne of emissions that are reduced or removed from the atmosphere. The first offset protocol allows for projects to generate credits by recovering landfill gas.

The rising cost of living is a top concern for all Atlantic Canadians, and many are also worried about climate change… Reaching net zero by 2050 is a national priority and an important one; however, we must question the associated costs of these pancaking policies and whether they are attached to achievable timelines. In Atlantic Canada, the more we reduce emissions, the more costly it will be for all of us.
