On October 13, 2022, the newest chapter of Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) Canada launched. WiRE will support and champion women working in renewable energy in New Brunswick.

WiRE is an international organization with impact throughout Canada and across the globe, steered by its mission to advance the role and recognition of women and other under-represented groups working in the energy sector. It’s been instrumental in providing programming that is inclusive of all clean energy technologies and bringing opportunities for involvement in networking, conferences, workshops, spotlights, speed mentoring, bursaries, field trips, awards and more. WiRE Canada has established a network in Ontario, British Columbia, Yukon, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and most recently, New Brunswick!

The WiRE New Brunswick chapter launch event was attended by women in many different roles across the energy sector, and took place at Laurentis Energy Partners in Saint John. During the successful launch Joanna Osawe, Founder and CEO of WiRE, announced a partnership with New Brunswick’s Centre of Excellence for Energy and introduced WiRE’s newest chapter leads.
