On July 30, the Governments of Canada and Nova Scotia released The Nova Scotia Regional Energy and Resource Table Framework for Collaboration on the Path to Net Zero (Collaboration Framework). This Collaboration Frame is a result of the Canada-Nova Scotia Regional Energy and Resource Table, which launched in October 2022.
Nova Scotia’s Regional Energy and Resource Table engaged stakeholders and Mi’kmaw partners to identify and accelerate shared economic priorities in the province’s transition to net-zero emissions by 2050 for energy and resource sectors. Similar tables are being developed across the country between provincial governments and the federal government.
The Collaboration Framework for Nova Scotia identifies six areas of economic opportunities to pursue during the energy and resource transition and outlines short-term directives to further these priorities.
Lastly, the Collaboration Table identified a need to support a collaborative, scenario-planning process to help estimate future labour needs.
